oopsie
I just opened the latest nest egg bill and the $1000.00 is actually $2,500.00. so............. we need sell a LOT of hot dogs. We are going to sell product in front of WalMart as often as we can. Yesterday we all stopped there as a crew to pick up some pictures
of venture I had taken and there was a cub scout pack selling dogs and brats. I spoke with the parents and one of them told me that on a good day they can clear several hundred dollars. I believe we will need about a dozen of those to retire the debt.

rebirth of the rebirth of the rebirth
The crew met as a group on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 and came to the following conclusions:
1 - We are gong to be a Sea Scout Ship as opposed to a Venture Crew
2 - We will concentrate on getting 'Venture', the sail training foundation'
Cal-34 Sailboat clean and seaworthy for the 2010
sailing season (May - October)
3 - We will focus on extensive fundraising activities to:
----a) retire the debt for dockage fees and Nest Egg Marina (around $1000.00 at present)
----b) secure a mooring at the Menominee Marina for the upcoming season (around $1500.00 for dockage, $800 for -----------mooring)
----c) obtain uniforms for all crew members. The uniforms will be property of the ship and not individual crew members.
----d) purchase materials and services to make Venture seaworthy
4 - We will focus on recruiting to have a ships complement of 10 to 12 members by December 2010.
5 - We will obtain the help of adult advisers to assist us in our training.
6 - We will choose, plan and execute a community service project during 2010.
7 - We will use bicycling as an additional area of interest.
SO thats a lot. We need a direction and this is the one we have picked. More later.
